RICE Prioritization Calculator
Score and rank features by Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort.
In short
The RICE calculator scores each feature by Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort, then ranks them by RICE score so you can compare a backlog objectively. Enter your numbers, add as many features as you like, and sort the list. No signup, all in your browser.
Impact: 3 = massive, 2 = high, 1 = medium, 0.5 = low, 0.25 = minimal
RICE is a simple prioritization formula: multiply Reach, Impact, and Confidence, then divide by Effort. It gives every feature a single comparable score so a backlog argument becomes a sorted list. This calculator runs entirely in your browser and keeps nothing.
Frequently asked questions
What is the RICE scoring formula?
RICE score equals Reach multiplied by Impact multiplied by Confidence, divided by Effort. Higher scores rank first. Reach and Effort use your own units, Impact uses a fixed scale, and Confidence is a percentage.
What units should I use for Reach and Effort?
Reach is usually people or accounts affected per time period. Effort is usually person-months or person-weeks. Keep the units consistent across every feature so the scores compare fairly.
Can Kithspark weight RICE by revenue?
Yes. In Kithspark, Reach and Impact can draw on HubSpot deal value, so a feature requested by large accounts scores higher than vote volume alone would suggest.
